New liquid cooling system for the SilverStone IceMyst ARGB processor

The SilverStone company is a globally renowned manufacturer of computer cases, power supplies, cooling solutions and accessories tailored for both ordinary users and professionals.
Processor is one of the most important components. To ensure the operation of a high-performance system, it is important to take care of the comfortable temperature mode of the components, namely cooling. An air or liquid cooling system can be installed on a processor with a TDP of more than 200 W. This will significantly reduce the temperature around the socket area space and ensure the stable operation of the PC.
In this case, it is necessary to choose between an air and a liquid cooling system. The choice of type depends on the TDP rating of the processor and the possibility of fitting the device in the case.
Features of an air cooling system for the processor:
- operation principle: heat from the surface of the processor is transferred to copper heat pipes, inside which there is an active liquid that changes state and releases excess heat onto the surface of the aluminum radiator. Then, the operation of a fan or several fans begins, providing active ventilation and heat dissipation;
- it is necessary to consider the height parameters of the radiator for installation in the case and make sure that the shape of the radiator does not interfere with other components on the motherboard;
- a TDP rating of 200 W or higher requires active cooling of the radiator, so in most cases, these are massive designs with two fans (PWM) and six heat pipes. Such cooling systems can be relatively noisy during operating at maximum fan speeds.
Features of the liquid cooling system for the processor:
- operation principle: the pump's base is in direct contact with the processor and excess heat is removed away through the tubes by circulating liquid towards the radiator, which is then cooled by fan(s). Depending on the number of radiator sections, the kit may include one, two or three 120/140 mm fans;
- it is important to consider the ability to fit a radiator of a certain length in the case. The design should not interfere with components around the socket area;
- pay attention to the flexibility and tightness of the tubes through which the liquid will move during the system's operation to avoid the risk of mechanical damage;
- liquid cooling is a modern type of cooling for high-performance systems, operating quietly and efficiently.
The new model in the SilverStone line is offered: the high-performance IceMyst AIO liquid cooling system for the processor with ARGB illumination of the decorative logo element on the pump and fans.
The optimal effect of removing heated air from the processor is achieved thanks to the fairly large copper base, that fits tightly to its surface and the active operation of the fans. The fan blades are specially shaped to optimize the movement of directed airflow. ARGB lighting complements the device's design.
The water block of the new generation of the liquid cooling system for the processor serves not only as the pump's housing but also allows for the installation of an additional special fan SST-IMF70-ARGB on its surface. This fan can rotate around its axis and change positions by 320 degrees. This feature allows for adjusting and directing the airflow towards specific areas on the motherboard. Начало формы
Features of the liquid cooling system for the SilverStone IceMyst ARGB processor:
- The TDP rating varies depending on the size of the radiator and the number of sections, and consequently, the number of fans:
- Two-section liquid cooling system with two 120 mm ARGB fans - SilverStone IceMyst SST-IM240-ARGB with a 240 W TDP rate.
- Three-section liquid cooling system with three 120 mm ARGB fans - SilverStone IceMyst SST-IM360-ARGB with a 300 W TDP rate.
- Two-section liquid cooling system with two 140 mm ARGB fans - SilverStone IceMyst SST-IM420-ARGB with a 350 W TDP rate.
- Compatible with modern sockets. Sufficiently large in size, the convex copper baseplate with a perfectly polished surface completely covers the processor and ensures optimal contact for effective heat dissipation.
- The heat removal system from the water block with a multi-chamber pump design helps isolate the channels for cold and hot liquid. The pump motor utilizes a three-phase six-band design for smoother and quieter operation compared to most single-phase four-band motors. This design feature contributes to increased energy efficiency of the device.
- The maximum liquid cooling performance is achieved through the included fans with 4-pin PWM and 4-1 pin ARGB (5 V LED) connections for backlight activation. The unique, optimal shape of the fan blades with a special curve helps reduce turbulent noise. The fan geometry is optimized to create an airflow and provide a certain pressure, which actively moves the air.
- Additionally, in the openings located at the corners of the fan frame, anti-vibration pads of medium hardness rubber are pasted;
- The hydraulic bearing ensures quiet and long-lasting fan operation even under maximum loads;
- The fan illumination can be activated by connecting it to the appropriate connector on the motherboard or an ARGB controller, and it can be synchronized with the illumination of other components. An ARGB controller with multiple lighting modes and the ability to adjust the brightness and fan speed is included in the kit.
- There is no need to connect multiple IceMyst series fans to a hub, because the chain connection type is used in series. This design feature allows for PWM and ARGB synchronization from one connector to multiple fans. At the same time, there is no need to use long cables and take care of their arrangement and laying;
- Corrosion and environmental protection are provided by using high-quality materials with an anti-corrosion coating;
- The tubes are flexible and convenient to place inside the case, securely fastened;
- Additionally, there is a decorative element on the pump with ARGB illumination – the SilverStone logo, which complements the design and emphasizes the uniqueness of the device;
- High-performance thermal paste is included in the kit.
